RecipeCan at Maximo’s
I love when the Brunchers take on other meals – this time it was dinner Maximo’s in Watertown. Quite the treat! I arrived to a nice card and some “Cookies for Grownups“…oh my Maximo’s had prepared a special tasting menu for the bloggers that night including samples from several of their dishes.
As we got started, Renee and I enjoyed a Boylan cola – quite sweet and tasty! We got to dine with owner, Betsy Gartrell Zeller. I loved her story about becoming an entrepreneur with her husband a how the restaurant was named after their kids. So inspirational – I’m so happy to supporting local businesses.
The menu is healthy, yet non-traditional. Items range from burritos to dumplings. This is the perfect spot to pick up dinner on the way home after work when you are just too tired to cook.
Back to the dinner – we started off with some roasted tomato bruschetta. Better than any bruschetta I’ve made!
We moved on to something lighter…although not quite. The grilled steak and onion salad was light, yet filling. I especially enjoyed the goat cheese and chimichurri sauce. I feel like this would be a perfect lunch.
So the next time you are in Watertown, stop by Maximo’s. Or – if you are a local business, check out their catering menu.
